The Child and Family Health Service provides free parenting support, advice and health checks (as outlined in the Personal Health Record (blue book)) for parents of children 0 - 5 years.
Nurses do a newborn assessment at your home during the first week, after that you attend ongoing check-ups at the clinic until your child is school age.
Nurses provide information and advice on Mums wellbeing, feeding, settling, sleep, growth, development, safety and behaviour. They also provide information on free council childhood immunisation clinics and specialist services if needed.
Clinics also run new parents groups for parents of newborns to 6 months, that provide information and an opportunity to meet other new parents in your local area.
Hours:
Generally hours are 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday - Friday, but check with Centre to confirm.
