Navy inspired Tapas Bar & Restaurant “The Swallowed Anchor” is Wollongong’s hottest new establishment right in the heart of the CBD. It is the perfect place for a mid-week date or group booking for a night out.

We offer a mixture of traditional and modern tapas with produce sourced from quality, local suppliers. Enjoy a range international and Australian vino with a selection of fan favourite and nautical inspired craft beers.

Owned by a couple of young Navy Veterans, with 24 years service between us, we’ve tried to incorporate a little bit of our Navy life into the bar for you to experience. In Navy slang, to ‘swallow the anchor’ means to retire from the sea and settle down ashore.
