    Connect to nature and keep the kids entertained and active during the school holidays! The Botanic Garden’s school holiday activities will bring a fun range of outdoor activities for children and families to enjoy.

    Visiting the garden is fun and free at any time during our opening hours, or you can book into one of our school holiday activities. Parents and carers can choose from a variety of school holiday programs for ages 4+. Some programs require parent/carer supervision.

    July School Holiday Program:

    Budding Bookings - Friday 4 July, 10am - 10.45am, Friday 11 July, 10am - 10.45am & Friday 18 July, 10am - 10.45am

    • Join in for magical and engaging stories, sing-alongs, rhymes, wiggly dances and crafts on Fridays near the Garden's Japanese Tea House (west of the Rose Garden) from 10am.     Dig n' Play - Wednesday 9 July, 9.30am - 11.30am or Wednesday 16 July, 9.30m - 11.30am

    • Join the Botanic Garden for a morning of nature games with a focus on winter survival and shelters, and hands-on gardening activities. Activities are suitable for children aged 4 to 7 years.     Tracks and Scats, Friday 11 July, 9.30am - 11.30am or Friday 14 July, 9.30am - 11.30am

    • Did you know that wombat poo is cubed or that flying foxes help build forests? Join the Garden as they explore the tracks and scats of some well-known Australian animals and learn to identify them by the clues they leave behind.     Little Red Riding Hood, Friday 11 July, 2 session times: 10.30am - 11.30am & 1pm - 2pm

    • These July School Holidays in Wollongong, join a magical, interactive retelling of Little Red Riding Hood—where the audience becomes part of the show! Dress up, dive in, and meet beloved characters like Red, the Wolf, and the Huntsman in a forest setting as enchanting as the tale itself. Hosted by The Eaton Gorge Theatre Company, this delightful roving performance adds an Aussie twist to a timeless fairy tale. Best suited to ages 4 - 8 years. Book your tickets now here.

    Junk Play - Thursday 17 July, 9.30am - 12.30pm

    • Come play with Junkyard Rascals in the ever-changing loose parts junkyard for 2 hours of child-led fun. A giant collection of repurposed and natural materials topped off with a set of big blue blocks, plus the natural wonders of the Garden's Sustainable Garden. Their giant pile of 'junk' is carefully curated to create as many opportunities for play as possible! There is so much to do, the only limit is your imagination.
    • This is not a drop-off program so parents must attend with their child. Activities are suitable for children aged up to 14 years. Book now/learn more here.
