CatholicCare's family and parenting education courses are held in a supportive environment with others who share similar challenges. They support and build capacity in families, children and individuals, particularly during times of change.

Their range of parenting education courses focus on strengthening relationships, parenting, post-separation, managing challenging emotions and loss and grief.

Circle of Security Parenting (Face to Face - Wollongong)

Term 1, 2025 dates - every Monday, 5.30pm-7.30pm, 5 x 2 hour weekly face to face sessions:

About this course: At some point in time, all parents experience the uncertainty of not knowing what their children need. Supporting You and Your Child Experiencing Anxiety (Online)

About this course: Supporting children to manage anxiety can be challenging. Anxiety can display in our children in many ways, impacting various aspects of life. This program will provide support to parents, assisting them to understand anxiety, how it can impact children and how you can support your child through it. About this course: Parenting after separation can be difficult for both you and your child. Witnessing ongoing conflict can have a negative impact on a child's development. In a supportive group setting, learn how to support your child and deal with both the practical and emotional challenges of parenting after separation. About this Course: For parents who have had a child removed from their care. The jumble of emotions and processes involved when having a child removed from your care can be hard to understand, manage and navigate. Join us in a safe, supportive environment, to discuss and reflect on these challenges and learn strategies to strengthen the relationship with your child. 123 Magic and Emotion Coaching (Face to Face, Wollongong)

Term 1, 2025 dates: Every Tuesday 10am-12.30pm, 3 x 2.5 hour sessions: 
  • 25th March

  • This face-to-face group welcomes parents of neurodiverse children, to explore the content with other parents who may face similar challenges 

About this Course: Supporting your child through the many challenging behaviours they may display each day, can be difficult and exhausting. This group will help you understand why the behaviour may be occurring, and simple effective strategies to manage the behaviours in a safe and effective way. *This program is inclusive of parents of neurodivergent children and their F2F sessions will be an opportunity for parents with similar experiences to explore and discuss the content together.

About this Course: Supporting parents who have experienced distress, suffering or trauma throughout their life. Explore how previous life events, experiences and/or trauma influence your parenting and how you interact with your children. Facilitators will provide a non-judgmental environment to help you improve your social and emotional wellbeing to support your parenting journey.
