The iconic MS Gong Ride returns on Sunday 1 November 2026, and this year there are even more ways for families to be part of the action!
Even if you’re not riding, families can head to the finish and soak up the atmosphere as cyclists complete their incredible journey to Wollongong, all while helping raise funds to support people living with multiple sclerosis.
For families with confident cyclists aged 12 years and over, make the MS Gong Ride a challenge to tackle together!
Choose the legendary 80km ride from Tempe Recreation Reserve or the 53km ride from Preston Park in Engadine, with both routes finishing at Thomas Dalton Park in Wollongong.
It’s a fantastic goal to train towards as a family and an unforgettable way for older kids and teens to experience one of the region’s biggest cycling events.
Not ready to tackle a 53km road ride? The MS Gong Virtual Ride, powered by JetBlack Cycling, gives families with kids aged 12+ another way to get involved.
There are two Virtual Ride options:
Join the fun at Thomas Dalton Park: Head to the Event Village and jump on the stationary smart bikes for a relay-style team cycling challenge. Families can create their own team, or participants can register individually and be allocated to one.
Ride from home: Families with a Zwift-compatible indoor trainer can register and tackle the virtual MS Gong course from home instead.
When: Sunday 1 November 2026
Virtual Ride starts: 9am
Cost: $45 per Virtual Rider
Age: 12+
You don’t have to be riding to get involved. Thomas Dalton Park is where the MS Gong Ride finishes, making Wollongong the place to welcome riders after their huge journey south.
Bring the family along, cheer on riders as they cross the finish line and experience the atmosphere of this much-loved annual event.
The MS Gong Ride is also a wonderful opportunity to introduce older kids and teens to fundraising and giving back. Participants can fundraise for MS Plus, helping support Australians living with multiple sclerosis.
Whether your family tackles the road ride together, joins the Virtual Ride at Thomas Dalton Park, participates virtually from home or simply comes along to cheer, there are plenty of ways to be part of MS Gong Ride day.
