Dr Hayley Glasson, local perinatal GP and NDC-accredited practitioner, is running her Possums Mothers Groups again this winter at Embrace Medical.
Designed for mums with babies under 6 months, the groups run for one hour every Friday for 3 weeks, beginning Friday 21st of August.
This is more than a traditional mothers group. It’s a chance to connect with other local parents while going a little deeper into the things that really matter in early parenthood:
🌿 The Possums approach to parenting
😴 Biological infant sleep and realistic expectations
🤱 Breastfeeding and its links with infant wellbeing and maternal mental health
🧠 Building confidence in your parenting instincts
💛 Matrescence — the enormous identity shift that comes with becoming a mum
🌱 Your parenting values and goals
🤝 Finding your people and building your mum tribe
💬 Making sense of the rollercoaster that is early parenthood
Depending on interest, partners can also join one session to be part of the learning and conversation.
Now in its third year, previous participants have described the groups as:
“A very open and accepting space”
“Very inclusive and interesting”
“A safe, comfortable space to discuss, explore and navigate the world of parenting”
“A lovely way to be introduced to Possums and to meet other mums who feel the same in their parenting.”
The groups are evidence-based, inclusive, supportive and non-judgemental, with plenty of space for honest conversations about the realities of becoming a parent.
$140 for all 3 sessions.
Places are limited to keep the group small and connected.
