Green Connect's new Play & Picnic Days offer a fun and educational outdoor experience for families and people of all ages, with more opportunities to enjoy time on the farm than ever before.

Spend up to 3 hours in our beautiful Children's Garden, where kids have lots of choice for free play, including sand pit, mud kitchen, recycled and natural loose parts and more. You’ll also head out on two mini–Farm Tours, offered in small groups throughout the session, to meet and feed our pigs, sheep, goats and chickens, explore our organic market gardens, smell our compost, and learn a bit about how we grow food sustainably. Bring a waste-free snack and a small picnic rug (if you don't want to sit on the grass, rocks or logs) to make the most of what is sure to be a fun and enriching morning!

Located in Warrawong NSW, just south of Wollongong, Green Connect is an award-winning social enterprise with a mission to employ and support former refugees and young people with complex barriers to employment. We can't wait to welcome you to our farm!

Please note: Everyone wishing to participate in a Play & Picnic Day, including adults and children, require a ticket to attend. Babies under 12 months are free.

  • BOOK HERE NOW

Before you book, please consider:

  • This is not a drop-off program. Parents and/or guardians must stay onsite and are responsible for the supervision of their children.
  • The site is a working farm and there are hazards onsite. Visitors must participate in a safety briefing before entering. Children must be actively supervised at all times whilst on site.
  • The terrain at the farm is steep and slippery in parts. The guided tours involves a moderately strenuous walk and are not accessible for prams, wheelchairs, or people with moderate mobility issues. Infants will need to be carried. If anyone in your group isn’t able to participate in the tour, they are welcome to stay in the Children’s Garden.
  • Plants love rain and so do we! We don’t cancel events in wet weather unless there is a dangerous storm. Rain (and mud!) is all part of the fun.
  • Our farm is home to potential allergens, including domestic animals as well as bees, wasps, and macadamia trees. Please pack an EpiPen if allergic and keep it with you at all times.

All farm visitors must:

  • Wear enclosed shoes or boots (no thongs or sandals allowed) and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Long pants are recommended.
  • Come prepared for the weather: Gumboots and rain jackets are recommended in wet weather (umbrellas are permitted too). Hat, sunscreen and water bottle are essential in warm weather. A change of clothes for kids is useful in any weather.
