The Illawarra Light Railway Museum in Albion Park is a great place to take children who love trains!

The museum has lots of different steam trains to look at and learn about, plus a cafe with drinks and snacks. Plus you and the kids will LOVE riding the miniature trains. Book online!

Diesel train rides are running during the school holidays from 10am - 2pm on both Tuesday during the holidays. Bring the family and have a bbq or picnic!

Back in Time - Tuesday December 2, 2025, 10am - 12.30pm

Lets go back in time on Tuesday December 2nd 2025 when the ILRMS will be celebrating the 48th year since the Steam Locomotives Wallaby and Burra arrived at there new home at Albion Park from the AI&S Visitors Centre on December 1st 1978 and also as part of the celebrations on the day we will pay tribute to the AIS Traffic Department for a great day out. Ride the Christmas Train - Sunday December 14, 2025, 10am - 2pm

Ride the Christmas Train from 10am to 2pm as the museum will be transformed into a Christmas Wonderland for all to enjoy as we celebrate Christmas in Style for a great fun family day out. Kids come see Santa and Mrs. clause and have a photo taken with them. Learn more/book tickets online here.
