Circus WOW (Women of Wollongong) has just created a Circus Mothers Group, for all those mothers who are at the circus or would love to join one, but find it hard to find the time away from their little ones. A general circus class for all levels, complete beginners, to experienced performers, just keen to get back into it after they had their baby. The class is also a great opportunity for babies and toddlers to familiarise themselves with the playful environment of circus.
The class will consist of general conditioning with a focus on abdominal, core stability and pelvic floor exercises. It will also teach new skills on a variety of circus apparatus; climbing a silk, sit on a trapeze, swing some hoops around shapely waists, while your baby looks at you in awe. One of the trainers will always be there to assist mums to include their baby or to entertain and teach them.
Ellen de Jong (physiotherapist and a doula) runs the class together with Honora Jenkins (skilled circus trainer for children).
