Dr Emma Tetstall is a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Wollongong, providing individualised care for women across the Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Highlands, from preconception and pregnancy through to birth, postnatal care and broader women’s health. With more than 15 years’ experience, Emma combines specialist medical expertise with a warm, women-centred approach, taking the time to listen, explain options clearly and help women feel informed and confident in decisions about their care.

Emma has a special interest in high-risk obstetrics and extensive experience caring for women with more complex pregnancies. This includes IVF and assisted-conception pregnancies, advanced maternal age, twins and multiple pregnancies, previous preterm birth, hypertension and previous preeclampsia, and pregnancies complicated by pre-existing medical conditions.

Emma holds a Staff Specialist appointment with admitting rights at Wollongong Public Hospital and is a Visiting Medical Officer at Wollongong Private Hospital, where she provides personalised private obstetric care.

Preconception Planning

You don’t need to wait until you’re pregnant to see Emma. Preconception planning can help identify medical, lifestyle or reproductive factors that may affect conception or pregnancy, giving women the opportunity to prepare for the healthiest pregnancy possible.

Gynaecology & Fertility

Emma also provides compassionate, thorough gynaecological care for a range of women’s health concerns. Her areas of care include miscarriage management, recurrent miscarriage investigation, PMOS (previously known as PCOS), contraception, abnormal cervical screening, colposcopy and infertility investigation.

Specialist Ultrasound Expertise

Emma has additional specialist qualifications in diagnostic ultrasound and experience in first-trimester and antenatal screening, interpretation and counselling. Her qualifications include a Master of Reproductive Medicine and Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound, alongside her specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology qualifications.
