Preschool Programs
Support your child’s early literacy and social development through engaging stories, lively songs, and fun play at Wollongong City Libraries. Running during school terms, their sessions provide a wonderful opportunity for preschoolers to learn and grow. No need to book—just drop in! - Baby Beats - Songs, rhymes, rhythm, and music to support your new baby’s developing listening and speaking skills. For pre-walking babies from birth to 12 months.
- Baby Bookworms - Develop skills, techniques and behaviours to engage with your baby in a fun and interactive way. For pre-walking babies from birth to 12 months.
- Drop in Duplo - Build a tower, count the blocks or engage in some imaginative play while developing fine motor skills. For kids aged 3 to 5 years.
- Preschool Storytime - Encourage a love of books, develop listening skills and stimulate young imaginations through stories, songs and craft. Each session also includes an art or craft activity to help develop their emerging fine motor skills. For kids aged 3 to 5 years and their siblings.
- Toddlertime - Stories, songs, finger play and movement to help your toddler’s developing communication and early literacy skills. For toddlers aged 2 to 3 years.
- Wriggle & Jiggle - Rhymes, songs, stories and movement to help develop listening and communication skills. For babies and toddlers from birth to 2 years.

After School Programs
Join in at Wollongong City Libraries for a variety of fun and free after-school activities tailored for school-aged kids and teens. Running during the school term, their sessions are designed to engage and entertain. Simply drop in—no bookings required! Visit here for individual library dates and times and to learn more.
- Board Game Club - Make new friends while playing modern and classic board games. Beginners are welcome. For kids and young people aged 8 to 14 years. Runs throughout the year, including school holidays.
- Build & Connect - A program for young people using Lego to build skills and connect with others in a safe and fun environment. Run by Wollongong City Council's Youth Services Team. For young people aged 12 to 24 years. FREE, but bookings are required. To book, contact Wollongong Youth Services on (02) 4227 8222
- Highschool Tutoring - Receive free tutoring and help with assignments from the Multicultural Communities Council of the Illawarra (MCCI). Afternoon tea is also provided. - Homework Club - Receive free homework help from the Multicultural Communities Council of the Illawarra (MCCI). For primary school students in years 4 to 6 from a refugee background. Contact MCCI on (02) 4229 7566 or email [email protected] for more information.
- Kidz Connect - Get creative, play games, make new friends and enjoy a themed party at the end of each term at our club for kids. For kids aged 5 to 12 years.
- LEGO Club - Take on a different building challenge each time and construct the highest tower, an unbeatable maze or a dinosaur made only of green bricks. For kids aged 5 to 12 years. Warrawong library LEGO club continues to run during school holidays.
- STEAM Punks - Build, make, play, experiment and game with other science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (STEAM) enthusiasts. For kids aged 5 to 12 years.
- Teenz Connect - Socialise while you learn self-care tips, your rights at work, games, activities and more. For young people aged 12 to 18 years.
