Here's a chance to make new friends in a cool after-school club – and be taught by a robotics team that is now the top team in the world for STEM Education, and Outreach. This team doesn't just build robots - they change the world!
Project Bucephalus Robotics is a Wollongong-based group that competes in the FIRST Robotics program and has been running robotics activities for children since 2011. Their after-school classes and school holiday workshops are an excellent activity for STEM-minded (or LEGO-obsessed) kids! Activities are held across Wollongong, Sydney, Shellharbour, and the Shoalhaven.
In these classes, students learn how to design, build, and program their own robots. Members of the Project Bucephalus robotics teams (aged 9-18) will pass on their skills in teamwork, lateral thinking, and having FUN!
The team is very experienced in supporting students with disabilities. We are Creative Kids Voucher approved. Spaces are limited, and enrolment is essential.
Robo Club are weekly after-school LEGO robotics classes running for 2 hours. These classes run in locations in Wollongong, Shellharbour and the Shoalhaven - visit our Robo Club page for locations and times.
Our curriculum contains lessons and games designed to develop robotics, engineering, and programming skills. Catering to both beginner and advanced students, activities are mixed between single-week challenges and multi-week projects. The occasional competition is thrown in for good measure (Robot Sumo is a favourite!).
Robo Camps are two-day LEGO robotics workshops running every school holiday. Each program runs two separate workshops: an “Introduction to Robotics” course for beginners, and an ever-changing Advanced course to challenge those with experience. These workshops allow students to engage with more complex projects that use advanced programming, engineering and creative skills - from creating artificial life to recreating ancient board games with robots!
