You are pregnant? CONGRATS!

We have some more lovely news for you – share this far and wide with your fellow ‘up the duff’ community in NSW!

Courtesy of an initiative from the NSW Government – The Baby Bundle bag – a FREE Baby Bundle designed to support the health, development and well-being of your baby worth $300 – is given to all families who are NSW residents and their baby was born after 1 January 2019.

What’s in the Baby Bundle?

The contents have been carefully selected to be appropriate and safe for newborn babies and include:

  • shoulder bag – with a pocket design to fit your baby’s Blue Book
  • play mat
  • sleeping bag
  • change mat
  • muslin wrap
  • mercury-free bath thermometer
  • baby toothbrush
  • breast pads
  • first aid kit
  • board books
  • face cloth
  • baby wipes
  • hand sanitiser and
  • barrier cream.

All products meet Australian safety standards. Items may change from time to time. Baby Bundle products are supplied by small to medium Australian-owned businesses.

Who is eligible for the Baby Bundle?

The Baby Bundle bag is given to all families who are NSW residents and their baby was born after 1 January 2019.

When will parents/ caregivers receive the Baby Bundle?

You’ll get the Baby Bundle before your discharge from hospital.

What if my baby is born at home?

If you didn’t give birth in a hospital, you will get it once your baby is registered with NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages.

What if my baby is born interstate or overseas?

If your baby is born interstate or overseas, and either parent is a NSW resident at the time of their baby’s birth, you can request a Baby Bundle via [email protected]. The Baby Bundle will be delivered to a nominated NSW address free of charge if the parent lives in NSW.

Will adoptive or foster parents receive the Baby Bundle?

Adoptive or foster parents can get a Baby Bundle if their baby is up to three months old and they live in NSW.

Will parents/caregivers who give birth to multiple babies be given more than one Baby Bundle?

Each baby receives their own Baby Bundle. If you have twins, you will get two Baby Bundles etc.

Located at Figtree Private Hospital, the Illawarra Early Parenting Centre provides specialised postnatal and parenting support for families with babies aged 28 days to two years. Their expert team helps parents build confidence, improve sleep and settling routines, and strengthen the parent–child bond.

  • Wollongong Private Hospital: Is home to the region’s premier and state-of-the-art maternity ward. Offers choice of Obstetrician and Paediatrician, an experienced and dedicated team of Midwives and Nurses, Specialist Lactation Consultant, Outpatient breast care and feeding service, Post-natal physiotherapy classes, Breastfeeding classes and much more.

Marsden Health: Perinatal Therapy Group

Pregnancy, birth and early parenthood can bring huge emotional changes – and no parent should feel like they have to navigate it alone. Marsden Health’s Perinatal Therapy Group offers a supportive online space for pregnant women and mums up to 24 months postpartum experiencing anxiety, overwhelm or low mood. Held weekly on Fridays via telehealth, these small-group sessions are led by Dr Nivek Jones and focus on emotional wellbeing, connection and professional support during the perinatal period.
